ANDRE BERTEL 2012 - KARATE SEMINAR VIDEOS

2012 has been a very busy year for me internationally and within New Zealand. Here are the video links to the Karate-Do Seminars I have taught this year (excluding the Christchurch Seminar). 2012 included two long trips to Europe (Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom), one to the other side of Australia, and one to the North Island of New Zealand. To all of my hosts and those who attended my classes - thank you very much! I appreciate the immense amount of positive feedback I've received. A special thanks to my loving wife, family, and students here in New Zealand, and around the world. Please enjoy these 2012 videos and please feel free to make some comments! 2013 will be a very big year for me karate-wise: first South Africa, New Zealand, then Japan. Osu, Andre.

  1. Greetings from Tallinn, Estonia. We are probably as far as you can get from NZ.
I want to thank you personally for your videos and writings.
I appreciate especially the rare footage of your trainings with Asai Sensei as well as your new footage.

I am a newbie in Karate, started training when I was 37 years old and am currently in the middle of 4th season of my trainings.

Thanks again and please keep posting new material

  4. Nothing for Europe (2013) is planned as of yet. However, South Africa in late January/early February is all go; and Japan.

It is all about scheduling. I'd love to go everywhere I am invited to instruct; however, my times to travel to teach are limited.

    Kindest regards, Andre

  6. Perfect timing and distancing based on maai and your physical attributes. In all cases, to execute this takedown it is best to apply a hasami (scissors) effect; thereby, making the job of flooring them very easy.

In actuality, when I teach such waza it is mostly to teach this type of principle. The online videos of my courses are deceptive. I prefer a more direct approach without the jodan keriwaza. All the best, OSU! Andre
