Renshusei from Boeblingen, Germany: Immanuel Tepper

Immanuel Tepper from Boeblingen, Germany, came for six days for training.

His enthusiasm for learning and understanding traditional kōryu (old school) karate was immediately evident. This was coupled by the fact that he's a really nice guy!

During his time here ‘Budō Karate 基本 (Kihon), 組手 (Kumite) and (Kata) were extensively trained in-depth.

Focal points I focused on for Immanuel included weight distribution in 立ち方 (tachikata); transfer of mass via correct 運足 (Unsoku); traditional karate 間合い (Maai) and correct Japanese Shōtōkan technique in general.

I will not detail my teachings here, they are for Immanuel, and for who he chooses to share them with. Instead, I will put some images below from the days of training (these are specifically for him, as  ‘reminders’ of key points I taught).

To conclude, I’d like to wish Immanuel the very best health and ongoing progression on his karate journey.
