At present I am working on the integration of technical variations of the various kihon-waza; thereby, acutely focusing on 'comparing and contrasting (in the physical sense) and, of course, training to make them even more effective 'reactively'.
In IKS (International Karate Shotokan), the objective is literally developing each "waza" to achieve 'ichigeki-hissatsu'. Not merely, 'doing the moves' up and down the dojo, nor training to snatch points, nor just doing kata as an empty performance art. This is the normal karate in most dojo now, just a sport and general recreation. However, for us, karate is not a game. It is technically BUJUTSU, with a philosophy steeped in BUDO.
TRAIN, TRAIN, TRAIN!!!
And more importantly, train PROPERLY.
