Today's self-training in Dojo 3.

 Today's self-training in Dojo 3.

Before I begin: I managed to congratulate Nishiyama Kakeru, who just won the World Games Individual Men's Kata title (He was training in Dojo 2). His wife, Ono Hikaru, who is the current WKF World Kata Champion was carrying her very cute baby when we met. Nishiyama and Ono are not only exemplary karateka, but good-hearted people.

I am positive that Nishiyama will also win the WKF World Championships as his Kihon is BUDO KARATE. This is from his teacher and my friend Sato Shihan (JKF Goju Kai), who/while coaches' sports karate, primarily maintains traditional Budo/Bujutsu Karate in his teachings. Sato Shihan is presently the top kata coach here in Japan, and I believe in the world. I have huge respect for Sato Shihan and the JKF Goju Kai in the perseveration of traditional karate. This is the same manner as the IKS.

In sum, I am very excited to see Nishiyama's success for Japan and Oita, like his wife.

On to my 'old man training' in the adjacent dojo'...
